IT Systems Engineer (St. Louis)
InfiniTech Consulting, a preferred Dell and Microsoft partner, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for implementing and supporting a diverse set of technology for its customers. This role performs systems integration and support of Windows Servers, VMware Virtualized Servers, Storage Area Networks, Firewalls, and Layer2 and Layer3 Networks.
Initial training as well as continuing education will be provided but successful applicants should possess extensive fundamentals and a working knowledge of the technologies used.
In this position, you will serve as the main technical interface to the client and have a direct impact on client satisfaction. Therefore, candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision and possess a high level of customer service skill. Excellent written and oral communication skills are also crucial, as well as being able to work with technical, non-technical, or executive staff.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client needs analysis, system audits, and system health checks
- Planning, design, and implementation of new technology solutions for clients
- Create and update client and ticket information within the primary dispatch portal
- Implement client projects including the deployment new storage arrays, networking equipment, server hardware, VMware vSphere platforms, firewalls, and data backup systems.
- Opening Support tickets with third-party vendors to identify root cause of client issues
- Train client staff on new technology implementations
- Shipping/receiving, boxing/unboxing of hardware and equipment
- Participate in requirement vendor training and certification programs
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Exceptional Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems
- Exceptional Knowledge of Network and Internet technologies: Email, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
- Experience with deploying Virtualization Technology (VMware), VCP is a plus
- Experience with Storage Area Networks strongly preferred
- Experience with Dell Servers, Storage, Switches, or SonicWALL is a plus
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work self-directed, prioritize tasks, and make decisions with little supervision
- Must possess a valid driver’s License
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience supporting virtualized infrastructure and/or network administration is preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems is preferred but not required
Preference will be given to candidates with Industry certification such as CCNA, CCNP, MCP, MCSE, VCP, etc.
