IT Support Technician (Columbia)

InfiniTech Consulting, a Platinum Dell EMC, Microsoft, and VMware partner, is seeking an experienced End User Support technician responsible for supporting a diverse set of technology for its customers.  This role performs installation and support of Desktop hardware/software, Printers, Windows Servers, and Local Area Networks.

Initial training as well as continuing education will be provided but successful applications will possess some fundamentals and a working knowledge of the technologies used.

In this position, you will serve as the main technical interface to the client and have a direct impact on client satisfaction.  Therefore, candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision and possess a high level of customer service skill.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are also crucial, as well as being able to work with technical, non-technical, or executive staff.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to client support requests. This involves problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware and/or software. This may be over the phone, remote configuration, or onsite configuration. This position provides fundamental to intermediate levels of support. Support issues are not standardized and require independent thought and problem solving to resolve. Systems support include:
    • Supporting printers in a network environment
    • Support of end user devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile equipment
    • Support of Email and backup systems
    • Support of Servers, Networks, and Firewalls
  • Create and update client and ticket information within the primary dispatch portal
  • Implement client projects including the deployment new Windows Servers, Desktops, networking equipment, firewalls, and data backup systems.
  • Opening Support tickets with third-party vendors and telecommunications providers
  • Perform Ethernet/Network Cabling and troubleshooting
  • Shipping/receiving, boxing/unboxing of hardware and equipment
  • Participate in requirement vendor training and certification programs
  • Other duties as assigned
 REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Exceptional Knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems
  • Exposure to Windows Server Operating Sytems
  • Working Knowledge of Network and Internet technologies: Email, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and Power Point)
  • Experience with Virtualization Technology (VMware/Hyper-V) is a plus
  • Experience with Dell Servers, Storage, Switches, or Sonicwalls is a plus
  • Experience with TeleCom/Voice/VoIP systems a plus
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work self-directed, prioritize tasks, and make decisions with little supervision
  • Must possess a valid driver’s License
 EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

2-4 years of experience supporting end users and/or network administration is preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems is a plus but not required

Preference will be given to candidates with Industry certification such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSE, VCP, etc.
